10 June-23 Oct. In honour of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Hirschsprung, the museum is holding a number of exhibitions of works from the archives, normally kept out of the public eye.
"Hammershøiana: Drawings, photographs and other memories" celebrates the work of Copenhagen artist Vilhelm Hammershøi (1864-1916). Letters, photographs, children's drawings and cuttings kept by Hammershøi's mother offer insights into his early career.
Hammershøi began his art instruction at the age of eight, attending the Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen in his teenage years, and later became known for his interior scenes, landscapes and portraits.
