8 April-28 August. This slightly unorthodox exhibition sees the work of leading British artist David Hockney but is not what one might expect.
Over the last few years Hockney has created over 400 drawings, using his iPhone and later his iPad. This installation at the Louisiana includes several hundred of his works displayed on 20 iTouches, 20 iPads, a triptych slide show and several projections.
Thanks to an animation playback feature of the "Brushes" application, viewers can also see a number of the works as they were drawn from start to finish. Throughout his career Hockney has been progressive, and has always questioned the way we see things, but rarely has he been as cutting-edge as this.
He first started working with the iPhone in 2008, which led him to discover the Brushes app, enabling him to produce works such as flowers, portraits, self-portraits, landscapes and still lives.
