Copenhagen city council has ditched a 3.2 million kroner anti-theft scheme for bikes, admitting that the project has not worked, reports the Copenhagen Post. Since 2008 thousands of chips have been installed on bikes in the city to enable them to be traced if stolen, however, the Post reports that only two stolen bikes have been returned to their owners. Thousands of bikes are stolen in Copenhagen every year.
